HOW IT ALL STARTED

Three years ago, Andy took a leap of faith and started Handy Andy Landscaping. What began as a one-year trial quickly became something much bigger when his wife got pregnant just two months in. That moment changed everything—this wasn't just a business anymore, it was his family's future. He knew he had to make it succeed.

"I winged it! Decided to try it for a year and if it flopped I would find a building job. Two months in my wife got pregnant and I thought to myself that I needed to succeed because this might be the last opportunity to ever start a business. And I've certainly succeeded."

Today, with 8 years of hands-on experience in the industry—including 2 years in building, 1 year in concreting, and 2 years specifically in landscaping—Andy has built a reputation across Whanganui for quality work that doesn't cut corners.

For the first three years, he worked completely solo, hand-picking his trusted digger driver Johnny when big excavation work was needed. Now, as demand has grown, he's expanding his team while maintaining the same high standards his customers expect.
